TWL History

The Tullamarine West Gate link is a part of the Melbourne City Link project, which also includes may other major works including two large tunnels that are still under construction.

The Tullamarine West Gate link has been under construction for the last 3 years and has provided a gold mine for the urban explorer.

Three sections of this project provide excellent exploration:

Bolte Bridge - 2.5km long bridge room. This provides long walk with some excellent features along the way.

Bolte Towers - Two 140m high towers. A great climb and fantastic view of the Melbourne cityscape.

International Gateway - 70-metre long, 5-meter square yellow beam set at a 30-degree angle across the traffic lanes. The inside is hollow with a stairway that leads to the top of the beam.

The following page provides a history of the construction of the Tullamarine West Gate Link.
